Cancelling your extended warranty
If you change your mind after buying an extended warranty for a
domestic electrical appliance, you have 45 days from the purchase
of the policy to cancel it and get a full refund.
Write a letter to the shop where you bought it from, supplying
the warranty policy number, date of purchase and price of the
warranty. Include the following paragraphs:
"I understand that The Supply of Extended Warranties
on Domestic Electrical Goods Order 2005 provides for a 45-day
cancellation period, during which consumers have the right to
cancel and get a full refund.
I am hereby giving notice that I wish to exercise my legal
rights and cancel my extended warranty with you. I have not claimed
on the warranty and expect a full refund of my
(£xxx) payment within 14 days."
If your warranty was purchased online or over the phone you may
be able to cancel the contract under the Distance Selling
Regulations. These give you 14 days to cancel most extended
warranty contracts made 'at a distance' (online, or by mail, phone
or fax order).

"I just had to put pen to paper and write to say I'm more than delighted with my settlement that you won me back from my PPI I had with Lloyds TSB. The Claim Forms were simple to fill in. It was a breeze"
