How to claim for unfair dismissal
Things to remember before claiming for unfair
dismissal:
- Keep copies of any letters you send, and written notes of
meetings and telephone conversations;
- While you are looking for a new job you may be able to claim
Jobseeker's Allowance, Housing Benefit, or Council Tax
Benefit.
What should you do if you're unfairly
dismissed?
- Before making a formal complaint for unfair dismissal you
should try and resolve the dispute with your employer;
- Appeal under your employer's dismissal, grievance or
disciplinary procedures;
- You and your employer could try conciliation through the Labour
Relations Agency or Advisory, Conciliation and Arbitration Service
(ACAS) where a specialist helps you sort out the problem;
- Another option is individual arbitration, which is where an
independent arbitrator hears the case and makes a legally binding
decision for you.

"I just had to put pen to paper and write to say I'm more than delighted with my settlement that you won me back from my PPI I had with Lloyds TSB. The Claim Forms were simple to fill in. It was a breeze"
