Making the Consumer Credit Act work for you
If you've purchased a product or service costing between £100
and £30,000, did you know that you're protected under the Consumer
Credit Act 1974 should it turn out to be faulty or mis-sold?
Section 75 of the Consumer Credit Act protects you by ensuring
that even if you cannot claim a refund from the retailer or service
provider for some reason, you can still get that money back - from
your credit card provider.
Of course, the credit card companies would probably prefer that
you didn't know about the Consumer Credit Act, but it's still your
legal right to claim a refund from them if you've exhausted other
possibilities.
For more about your rights under the Consumer Credit Act and how
exactly to exercise them, be sure to read our free Section 75
Claims guide.
