Knowing and using your credit card rights
Are you aware of your credit card rights, under Section 75 of
the Consumer Credit Act 1974?
The Act lays out credit card rights intended to protect you from
losing money to untrustworthy retailers or service providers who
manage to wriggle their way out of granting you a refund for
unsatisfactory purchases.
Essentially, these credit card rights allow you to seek
recompense from your credit card company for any transaction
between £100 and £30,000 in cases where the retailer's response is
insufficient or they do not reply at all.
Credit card rights are there to offer an extra layer of security
for the consumer, so don't be afraid to use them if you've been
ripped off. For more about your credit card rights and the Consumer
Credit Act, be sure to look at our free Section 75 Claims
