Credit card returns policy and legal requirements
If you use your credit card, returns are easy. Retailers and
service providers are often reluctant to provide refunds, even when
you are entitled to them - but for any purchase between £100 and
£30,000 made on a credit card, returns can be billed to your credit
card provider instead.
Section 75 of the Consumer Credit Act 1974 places a
responsibility on credit card companies to cover any losses
incurred by their customers on unsatisfactory goods or services
that sellers refuse to refund. So if, for example, a shop closes
down or you can't get a reply from a retail website, you can turn
to your credit card supplier instead.
When you buy things with your credit card, returns needn't be a
hassle.
