Information and advice on credit card consumer rights
If you use your credit card a lot, you may be interested to know
about the credit card consumer rights in place to protect you when
making purchases.
Section 75 of the Consumer Credit Act 1974 lays down what is
maybe the most important of the credit card consumer rights,
regarding refunds.
It states that any transaction of between £100 and £30,000 is
covered by credit card consumer rights which mean that if you are
entitled to a refund on a product or service, but for whatever
reason you are not able to claim one from the seller, your credit
card company must provide it instead.
So if you've been ripped off by a retailer who's now giving you
the runaround, you always have the option of exercising your credit
card consumer rights and claiming the loss back from whoever
provides your credit card.
