Your rights under the Consumer Credit Act 1987
Section 75 of the Consumer Credit Act 1987 grants you certain
rights when you use a credit card to make purchases. The most
important of these rights is that any purchase with which you are
not satisfied and which cost between £100 and £30,000 must be
refunded by your credit card company if the original seller refuses
to do so, for whatever reason.
Therefore, under the Consumer Credit Act 1987, you should never
lose out due to unscrupulous retailers refusing you refunds for
poor quality goods and services - you can get that money back from
your credit card supplier.
Don't be afraid to use the Consumer Credit Act 1987 to exercise
your rights to a refund.
