Mobile Phone Complaints
Cancelling a mobile phone contract
Have you
been offered a free upgrade on a mobile phone, only to find you are
stuck in an expensive contract? Or perhaps you've been switched
from one supplier to another without your consent? You could
even have been lured into a contract with a misleading
Cashback offer.
If so, you may have been mis-sold a mobile phone contract and
therefore entitled to cancel your contract - potentially saving you
£100s.
Telecom regulator Ofcom have brought in a new code of practice
to prevent mis-selling from mobile phone providers. Under the new
code, mobile networks will no longer be able to push you aside with
excuses that the problem is the responsibility of a third-party
company who sold the contract.
Companies can now be fined up to 10% of annual turnover if they
mis-sell mobile phone contracts.
