Emirates complaints and what you should do
Firstly, consult Emirates complaints procedures under the
"Rules & Notices" section in "Essential Information". Use
the site map to find it as the site is fairly confusing. Read the
accompanying PDF and follow exactly.
Should your complaint fall on deaf ears and you receive no
compensation you may want to try some other approaches.
Two other sources of vital consumer advice include the Air
Transport Users Council on 020 7240 6061, or visit
complaints@auc.org.uk.
You may also wish to take your case to your local county
court. Our GUIDE TO THE SMALL CLAIMS
COURT is a perfect place to start learning how.
And one more avenue to take advantage of: according to Section
75 of the Consumer Credit Act of 1974, you may be able to claim
compensation directly from your credit card
company to cover the costs of your flight
cancellation, as long as the tickets cost more
than £100 and were bought with your credit card. Your Emirates
complaints procedure may have failed to reimburse you but this
little known but very powerful clause may yet save the day!
See Section 75 in more detail: Section 75 Claims guide.
Best of luck on your Emirates complaints from Claims Financial!
