What if a retailer won’t let me return goods?
Shops often make it difficult to return goods, introducing their
own rules and policies that serve to confuse the consumer and often
make returns seem more trouble than they're worth.
However, you have certain rights under the Sale of Goods Act
when you want to return goods, and no matter how retailers may try
to obfuscate these, they are legally bound to operate by them.
According to the Act, if you wish to return goods due to them
being of an unsatisfactory quality, and do so within a reasonable
amount of time after the purchase, the retailer is required to
offer you a refund. And even if you have left it too long for a
refund, if the goods were faulty at the time of purchase, you are
still legally entitled to a replacement or a repair service free of
charge.
Don't let an untrustworthy retailer deprive you of your right to
return goods; read our free guide today.
