Be sure to know your customer rights
You may think you know your customer rights - at least until you
try to return faulty goods and your retailer insists otherwise.
But don't let them confuse you, mislead you or put you off,
because the Sale of Goods Act clearly lays out the rules retailers
are required to play by, and customer rights comprise a large part
of it.
Your customer rights clearly state that if you purchase faulty
goods from a retailer, they are legally obliged to refund your
money provided you return the goods within a reasonable timeframe.
After that, they are still required to provide a replacement or
repair the goods if they were faulty at the time of purchase.
The manufacturer of the goods may have included a warranty, but
warranties do not replace your customer rights involving the
retailer, which may extend beyond the lifetime of the warranty or
guarantee from the manufacturer.
