You may be used to paying credit card fees for late or returned payments on your credit cards or exceeded credit limits. However, an Office of Fair Trading ruling established £12 as the upper limit for these charges.

Therefore, if you have ever received a penalty charge of over £12, you have been overcharged by your credit card company and are entitled to reclaim these fees.
