Claim back £1000s from Council Tax Rebanding
How to ask for a reassessment and claim a
tax rebate
- If you would like your property to be reassessed to ensure it
is in the correct band and if not, to change the band, you must
contact the listing officer using the 'where to find us' link on
the Valuation Office Agency's website.
- If the band has changed or you were in the wrong band to start
with, ensure that you can get a backdated refund of all tax paid
since 1991 by alerting the listing officer to this when you speak
to them. Make sure you give your reasons for believing your house
has been placed in the wrong band, eg) My neighbour has a similar
house and is in a lower band.
- If after being told your property is in the correct council tax
band you still disagree, you can appeal the decision under the
grounds for appeal given on the Valuation Office Agency's
website.

"I just had to put pen to paper and write to say I'm more than delighted with my settlement that you won me back from my PPI I had with Lloyds TSB. The Claim Forms were simple to fill in. It was a breeze"
