Cartel Client Review boss Carl Wright has admitted that the
company has no money to refund the thousands of customers it has
left hundreds of pounds out of pocket.
When quizzed on the whereabouts of his clients' money, Wright
told the Daily Mirror: "The money is not available to be refunded
back."
Cartel charges upfront fees of £495 per claim and offers to get
consumers' debts written off by claiming to their bank or lender
that their credit agreement is "unenforceable". However, many of
its customers say their claims have been going on for years and
that Cartel does not respond to any correspondence.
In response to thousands of customer complaints, the Ministry Of
Justice recently began an investigation into Cartel. However, it is
now unlikely that the customers will ever get their money back from
the controversial company.
It is thought that the firm has taken more than £20m from
customers.
Wright insisted the legal work on its debt write-off claims had
been done and that clients now needed to take their cases to court
with no-win, no-fee solicitors.
However, recent court judgments have made it extremely unlikely
that these cases would actually be successful.
In addition to the thousands of consumers it has ripped off,
Cartel has also left hundreds of business partners and introducers
in limbo.
Partners of Cartel are being urged to contact Claims Financial -
an ethical claims management company that does not charge upfront
fees - to arrange a fairer service for their clients.

"I just had to put pen to paper and write to say I'm more than delighted with my settlement that you won me back from my PPI I had with Lloyds TSB. The Claim Forms were simple to fill in. It was a breeze"
