British Airways has seen a massive fall in bookings for flights
as travellers put off making reservations or switch to rival
airlines in fear of "disastrous" strike action.
Since BA cabin crew voted in favour of industrial action last
week, price comparison website travelsupermarket.com said the
number of customers making inquiries about BA flights on its site
has fallen by a third.
Although the Unite trade union has promised there will be no
strike action over Easter there are fears that this may only apply
to Easter weekend itself, potentially leaving thousands of families
who have booked flights during the school holidays in limbo.
It's disastrous for British Airways, for
its staff and for its customers.
The union has until March 15 to announce strike dates, at which
point it must give 7 days' notice of any walkout, so action
coinciding with the Easter holidays is looking increasingly
likely.
Bob Atkinson of travelsupermarket.com said: "Customers are
sitting around simply not knowing to do for the best.
"It's also sowing doubt into the minds of people who might
otherwise book to fly BA. It's a gamble.
"It's disastrous for British Airways, for its staff and for its
customers."

"I just had to put pen to paper and write to say I'm more than delighted with my settlement that you won me back from my PPI I had with Lloyds TSB. The Claim Forms were simple to fill in. It was a breeze"
