Discontent over mis-sold loan insurance becomes clear

The repercussions of the mis-sold PPI scandal are becoming ever more evident by the day, as millions of customers move to secure loan insurance compensation for themselves after having been ripped off by banks, building societies or other financial lending institutions.

PPI, or Payment Protection Insurance, is the devil at the heart of this black occurrence; it is a form of loan insurance which was incorrectly sold to vast swathes of customerdom. These innocent victims found that greedy lenders had lightened their coinpurses by more than they had anticipated by heaping in an unnecessary insurance policy on top of the amount they already owed.

Worse yet than this act of deception was that many of the policies sold were, it transpired, utterly useless to those to whom they had been sold. PPI, while a useful financial product for some individuals, has a number of exceptions and unexpected loopholes that make it impossible for many of those in possession of such a policy to actually make a claim at all.

Other unfortunate souls found that they were already covered by other forms of insurance, or knew they would not have opted in to such a scheme had they been consulted on the issue. This is the essence of PPI mis-selling, and it is a great crime indeed. Payment Protection Insurance is of use to but a small slither of those who were sold it.

Fortunately for those who were tricked by unseemly lenders, all financial institutions are now required to take customer complaints seriously when it comes to the issue of mis-sold PPI. Nonetheless, there is no doubt that they will attempt to give the runaround to any malcontents who dare to bring up the issue, which is why it may be important to seek expert advice when it comes to claiming back mis-sold PPI.
