How to complain about cowboy builders
If you have been a victim of a cowboy builder then you have been
a victim of fraud at the same time. You may find it difficult to
complain to the builder directly - they are called "rogue" for a
reason - as it will be tricky to track them down, and even if you
do find them it's unlikely that they will listen to your
complaint.
If this is the case then the first ports of call are the police
and your local Trading Standards office.
When you speak to the authorities give as much information about
the builder as possible.
It you can track the builder down then it is also possible to
take them to court. In the event of a small job a small claims
court should suffice and would be relatively inexpensive. But if
the project was a big one there may be some hefty legal fees
involved. The website communitylegaladvice.org.uk
or your local Citizens' Advice Bureau will give you legal advice
and sometimes organise free legal representation for you.

"I just had to put pen to paper and write to say I'm more than delighted with my settlement that you won me back from my PPI I had with Lloyds TSB. The Claim Forms were simple to fill in. It was a breeze"
