In what must be one of the biggest acts of thievery ever
recorded it was recently revealed that UK energy companies are
swindling their customers out of an astonishing £1.6bn every
year.
By refusing to lower their tariffs to reflect a decline in
wholesale energy prices, the companies effectively swiped £74 from
every household in the country.
It's unacceptable in times where families are struggling to pay
the bills that the energy suppliers are unscrupulously overcharging
consumers in this way. Thousands of people can barely afford to
heat their homes in the colder months yet the companies do
absolutely nothing to alleviate the situation.
Unfortunately, there is not a lot people can do about the prices
that the energy suppliers set. That is a job for the regulators and
the government.
However, it is possible to claim back some costs if you've been
billed for more energy or water than you've actually used.
And in some cases, customers have been moved onto a more
expensive tariff and not been informed about it until over two
months later. This is a dirty practice which, despite warnings from
regulators, the companies continue to execute.
Thousands of irate customers are already standing up to the
energy companies and reclaiming money that is rightfully theirs. If
more and more people do this then our suppliers will have to listen
and perhaps rethink their scandalous policies.

might have, and would like to know more about reclaiming, please
