Information on the bank ombudsman
The bank ombudsman is the Financial Ombudsman Service. It was
established in 2001 by the government with the aim of independently
settling disputes between consumers and financial firms in the
UK.
The ombudsman deals with many financial matters, such as
banking, insurance, mortgages pensions, savings and
investments.
Before consumers can use the bank ombudsman they must first give
the business in question the opportunity to put things right
themselves.
